About Tail Slide Haven

Any web designer worth their bandwidth should tell you that a web sites purpose for existence is to fix the visitors problem. The web site should also load in less than five seconds. And lastly, visitors should learn exactly how the web sites business will solve their problem in under six seconds.. The above web design parameters apply primarily to any business web site. Anything less makes the business web site an abject failure.   Since Tail Slide Haven isn’t a business web site—”Damn the rules Margot, full speed ahead!” Personal, experimental, artistic, and band web sites have license to disregard any—and all rules of smart web design. They can be avant guard and as artsy- fartsy as they wish.

Low Altitude

Without having to answer to someone who subsists on an exclusive tofu diet and

needs 48 words to order a coffee at Starbucks, I think I’ve been able to

accomplish two specific good web design objectives. The objectives are rapid

load time, and visitors quickly understand that this site is about radio controlled

aircraft.

Tail Slide Haven isn’t primarily about solving problems (although we may solve a few), but a place of engaging, inspirational, sometimes humorous, thought provoking information for those who are hooked on R/C aircraft. Insight From A Low Altitude simply means looking at things from a different perspective. This perspective constitutes writing with a forthright edge applied to whatever R/C issue deserves it—and exploring subjects seldom written about in R/C publications. Moreover, writing about anything R/C is assuredly more fun than writing about the epistemological self deception of Hegelian philosophy. No long boring bios here either—except admittedly, I’ve been in very close proximity to Ambroid glue fumes since I was nine years old. Suffice to say, I worked on Uncle Sam’s fighters for 20 years in the USAF and have been flying R/C airplanes since the early 80’s. This gives me enough crusted aircraft related cranial debris to...well...put together Tail Slide Haven!
