Kraft Super-Fli Build-Finale

I really hate to admit how long it’s taken me to finally get the Super-Fli finished. Those of you who have various projects in progress know how one can go dormant for various reasons. Reasons like money, not being able to find the correct parts, or get around to making them, moving, an engineering problem, other projects, or just losing interest in the thing for awhile. Here we have some scant text notes and pictures of the finished airplane. How long did it take? I made the cowl back in 1993! Better late than never!

Engine Mounting Detail

Engine used is a long stroke OS .61

SF. A Slimline Pitts muffler--which fit

perfectly, keeps the peace and

handles the exhaust.

Remote Glow Plug Adapter

I decided to use a remote Glow Plug adapter. I had it lying around for years and I didn’t want to drill a hole through the cowl decal.

Phil Kraft remarked his SUPER-FLI weighed over nine pounds. Mine weighs in under eight.

Canopy was the most annoying part

of build. It took me about 10 tries to

finally pull one I liked. Dubro fuel
